Bet365 is a true globe-trotter, with the company bankrolling its own progress in some of the world’s most competitive markets, including the United States. While other British companies have had to exit regulated markets, bet365 has gone the other way – seeking to enter many of the most influential ones.
France could be next for bet365 as it moves forward
Now, it appears that France could be on that list, with the Stoke-on-Trent headquartered company, as originally reported by SBC-&-Gaming&Co. The news remains speculative, as bet365 has refused to either confirm or deny these reports, as is its wont.
Led by one of the most influential figures in the industry, Denise Coates, bet365 has been actively looking to solidify its presence in potentially high-yielding markets. The United States, for example, has been challenged by dozens of companies, many of which faltered, but bet365 has remained steady in its commitment to local markets overseas.
Entering France ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup would be a very good time as well, as many French citizens are turning to offshore gambling options to satisfy their passion for betting on soccer’s crowning events.
Bet365 would have to deal with a highly competitive local market
It is worth noting that Bet365 would face rather challenging operational conditions were it to enter the regulated gambling market in France, with the country charging a 70% tax on gross gaming revenue, along with a 15% tax on the operator’s advertising spend, creating a rather difficult market to regulate.
Yet, bet365 has been known to prioritize growth and presence over profits, with its model working in many of the world’s most competitive markets. With the company refusing to confirm or deny the rumors, its future in France remains speculative.
