EvenBet Gaming has revealed a first-of-its-kind product for the gambling industry, Spins Poker, designed to boost gross gaming revenue and player engagement for sportsbooks and casinos worldwide.
Announcing the product at SiGMA Central Europe in the company of Square in the Air B2B Director, Lewis Philips, EvenBet Gaming CEO Dmitry Starostenkov discussed this pioneering solution and how it is set to impact operator results.
Starostenkov discussed the genesis of the Spins Poker product, detailing how the company set out to truly innovate the vertical by removing parts of the experience that it thought were unnecessary while focusing on innovation that would allow partner operators to retain and engage players better.
As noted by Philips at the beginning of the presentation at SIGMA Central Europe, Spins Poker is estimated to boost gross gaming revenue by up to 14.7% and reduce player churn by 10%.
Starostenkov said that the company eventually chose to explore the intersection between poker and casino, offering players a chance to win much more by turning to this new product, and offering partners a strong retention and even reactivation tool.
Next, Philips set out to discover how exactly Spins Poker stands to benefit sportsbooks and casinos, and how this new product stood out from traditional poker experiences.
Starostenkov welcomed the question and delved into the product’s specifics, bringing a fresh perspective on why Spins Poker would appeal to player bases and operators. Essentially, the product has kept the best from both worlds, Starostenkov argued.
From poker, he noted, the format had retained the competitiveness and player-to-player experience. It’s a skill-based experience, Starostenkov points out, owing to the product’s poker legacy, but it also brings worthwhile mechanics and elements from the casino segment, such as accessibility, easy onboarding, and random prizes.
It’s about how to combine these two verticals in the simplest way possible, Starostenkov noted. He added that Spins Poker has been developed with a mobile-first mindset, reflecting the present-day realities of gaming.
Starostenkov said that this approach allows EvenBet Gaming to easily integrate its innovative product with sportsbooks and casino operators, and importantly, the Spins Poker product does not require a large poker team on behalf of operators to actually launch and manage it.
Philips then asked Starostenkov to give an overall sense of how this new product could drive operator success. Starostenkov explained that poker is traditionally a more complicated vertical than sports betting and casino, not only because of player reception, but also of the way poker is structured – it usually requires a large management team to run.
Starostenkov noted that these complexities are usually enough to "spook" casino and sportsbook operators.
Yet, Starostenkov remarks that while there are qualms about launching into poker, interest in the vertical is climbing owing to the increasingly competitive market, which expects operators to have more to offer their players and differentiate their portfolios.
This is a reason for operators to consider Spins Poker, a product that will introduce them to the poker vertical while ensuring that there are no operational expenses or burdens.
The integration is made even simpler, Starostenkov confirms, as EvenBet Gaming offers its own liquidity and player bases, allowing new operators who run the product for the first time to immediately be able to pair off their own players against a wider audience.
Next, Starostenkov talked about the potential impact the product could have on the industry as a whole.
Starostenkov spoke of the need to create exciting products with rich visual fidelity. Spins Poker, though, is also a product that has been crafted with the latest industry trends in mind, including the rise in marketing and social media, and fits with these ongoing developments.
Asked "why now," Starostenkov gives several reasons why Spins Poker is arriving in the market today. Operators need to differentiate themselves, and Spins Poker is fit for purpose. Another reason is rooted in the rise of crypto casinos and player expectations that such websites would also cater to poker aficionados.
Essentially, it came down to how to tap into all of these trends and help operators benefit without burdening them with the traditional complexities of the poker segment, resulting in Spins Poker.
At a glance, Spins Poker features 3 players per table, random prize multipliers varying between 2x and 1000x, and super-quick gaming sessions, lasting anything between 5 and 7 minutes.
The Spins Poker format is also tied to a general poker format that is known for less seasonal drops in revenue than other poker formats, and offers strong synergies, especially for sportsbooks, 29% of whose player base is already interested in and plays poker.
