MGCB goes after more illegal sites in the Great Lakes State

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has gone after a series of new websites that have been operating without a license from the relevant authority in the Great Lakes State, the watchdog said in an official press statement published on its website.

MGCB names six websites that it has now taken action against

In the latest measure against the unregulated gambling sector, the MGCB targeted six websites, identified as Crypto Slots, NitroBetting, NewVegas, Las Vegas USA Casino, Grand Rush Casino, and Slotgard Casino, all of which have been served with a cease-and-desist letter on July 30, 2025, and have 14 days to comply with the request.

MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams has issued a statement detailing the regulatory action taken against the websites, which the regulator has deemed not to be operating with an appropriate license.

"These sites were attempting to exploit Michigan players while operating outside the law. We take this seriously. When unauthorized operators offer games without regulation, Michigan players are left exposed—and we will not tolerate it," Williams said.

These websites are said to have violated multiple laws, including the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Lawful Sports Betting Act, and various provisions of the Michigan Penal Code. The MGCB similarly cautioned that because of the nature of the illegal operations, there were numerous risks to consumers who may play at those six websites.

Among those risks were winning money without any guarantee that the win would be honored, playing games with potentially rigged or unfair terms, and having no legal protection in cases of data theft, fraud, or account disputes.

Williams insisted that the regulated gambling market in Michigan was able to provide all of these legal protections and encouraged players to avoid such offshore websites.

The MGCB has been moving in strength against the offshore market, and most recently, in July, banned 19 illegal gambling websites.
