Earlier in 2025, Sportradar, the leading global sports technology company, confirmed it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire IMG Arena and its betting rights assets.

On Monday, Sportradar revealed it has successfully completed the acquisition of IMG Arena along with its global sports betting rights portfolio from Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. and OB Global Holdings, LLC.

The strategic acquisition is expected to boost Sportradar's financial results

A statement released by the former confirms that the company anticipates a boost in its adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow conversion thanks to the acquisition.

The company said that it is not required to provide any financial consideration under the takeover.

Instead, it said that the deal "includes total financial consideration to Sportradar of $225m comprised of approximately $122m in cash prepayments by the seller to certain sports rightsholders and approximately $103m to Sportradar."

On the other hand, the payments to Sportradar are expected to be completed over two years.

Not unexpectedly, those payments are subject to customary purchase price adjustments, the company said.

Carsten Koerl, Sportradar's Chief Executive Officer, revealed that the company is pleased to finalize the acquisition of IMG Arena.

"This marks a significant milestone for Sportradar expanding our access to premium sports content that strengthens and complements our already robust global portfolio and capabilities," he said.

Finally, Koerl pointed out: "With this, we are uniquely positioned to deliver even more immersive, data rich experiences to our clients, partners and fans around the world while accelerating innovation at scale across the global sports ecosystem."

This summer, Sportradar confirmed the debut of its responsible gambling-focused, AI-powered tool, Bettor Sense.

Bolstering its RG efforts, the company's innovative solution strengthened user protection, offering a personalized and proactive approach.

Sportradar will leverage business relationships with tens of rights holders

Acquiring IMG Arena and its global sports betting rights portfolio, Sportradar taps into strategic relationships with more than 70 rights holders.

This grants the company access to approximately 38,000 official data events and some 29,000 streaming events from 14 global sports.

As a result, Sportradar's sports coverage grows to more than 1 million matches every year, reaffirming its position as a leading data and solutions supplier for the gaming industry.

In addition to the positive financial impact, the milestone acquisition is expected to strengthen the company's product development and enable it to easily integrate and monetize rights thanks to its scalable technology and a vast network of partners.

Last month, Sportradar agreed to power the player protection of the fastest-growing US sports company, Underdog.
